Night Light

The white stone in this Sycamore thumb like form is translucent and has behind it a very small electric lamp for illumination. It emits a soft warm glow that gives off a subtle and organically comforting light at night. The stone was collected on Cape May, New Jersey.

Golden Heal with Crystal Structure

Occasionally, I incorporate gold in these works. The wood part here is a heal that was cut off a large branch that fell off a huge tree who's girth required six adults with arms outstretched to encircle. The heal had sealed a wound where a branch had broken off and the hollow that contains the mineral crystal structure still had rotted wood in it.

Heal II

This is another heal that had formed over where a branch had broken from a tree. It was on its way to becoming a burl. This work also incorporated mineral crystal structures and stones from Cape May, New Jersey.

Tree Section

This carving was cut from a log that had a branch growing from it. I wanted to represent the bark that came from this part of the log using the actual wood that the log was made from that was just under the bark itself. The heart was inspired by a flaw in the wood.

Reaching Root

This creation is made from a root turned upside down. The base is English Sycamore.

Vase

This object would make a great vase for small flowers.

Abstract Lamp

This piece also has lights in it that cast softly irregular shapes about the room. The blue green mineral structure at its center is translucent and glows when the lamp is on.
